Milli Owl

Supplies:
5.0 H crochet hook with worsted yarn
5.5 I crochet hook with chunky yarn
Scissors
Needle
Stitch Marker
Poly fill stuffing (or stuffing of choice)

Yarn colors used in this pattern:
Color A:  Body
Color B:  Top Body, Wing border, V detail
Color C:  Eyes (white)
Color D:  Wing
Color E:  Eye detail (black)
Color F:  Nose

Abbreviations:
Ch- chain
SC – single crochet
DC – double Crochet
SCTOG- SC 2 together
SL – slip
ST – stitch
NXT – next

Notes:
Chain 1 does not count as stitch

Body
With Color A
Magic Ring
Row 1:  6 sc in ring, join sl st, ch 1 (6)
Row 2:   2 sc in each st around, join sl st, ch 1 (12)
Row 3:  *2 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in nxt st*  repeat around 5 more times, join sl st, ch 1 (18)
Row 4:   *2 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in nxt 2 st*  repeat around, join sl st, ch 1 (24)
Row 5:  *2 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in nxt 3 st *  repeat around 5 more times, join sl st, ch 1 (30)
Insert stitch marker at 1st stitch and begin crocheting without joining each round
Row 6-12:  30 sc around

Pause here and using color B sew tummy “V” details

Change to color B
Move stitch marker to last stitch of color A and continue crocheting without joining each round
Row 13-18: 30 sc around

Row 19: DECREASE ROW *1 Sc in nxt 3 st, 2sctog* repeat around 5 more times (24)
Row 20: 24 sc around
Fasten off and leave long tail for SC closure later
DO NOT FILL YET

Eyes (Make 2)
With Color C:
Magic Ring
Row 1:  6 sc in ring, join sl st, ch 1 (6)
Row 2:   2 sc in each st around, join sl st, ch 1 (12)
Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing to body
Using Color E sew eye lid details

Wings (Make 2)
With Color D:
Magic Ring, 6 sc in ring, DO NOT JOIN
Ch 1, turn, 1 sc, 2sc, 1sc, 1sc,  2sc, 1sc, (8)
Ch 1, turn, 1 sc, 1sc,  2 sc, 1 sc, 1sc, 2sc,  1sc, 1sc, (10)
Fasten off and eave a long tail in this color for sewing

Attach Color B:
1 SC in each st (10)
Fasten off and leave a long tail in this color for sewing

Sew to body using each color for appropriate edge

Finishing:
Stuff body to desired firmness
Bringing the opening together in a long line and using Color B begin to SC across
(if your fold is not near where your 1 sc is just bring it to where you want to begin and crochet over the tail)
1 sc in nxt 4 st, 1 sctog, 1 sctog, 1 sc in nxt 4 st
Fasten off and weave in ends

Nose
Using color F
Sew back and forth in a triangle pattern between eyes to create a puffy nose. I picked a point at the bottom an many points to bring the yarn through at the top.
