Winter Tempest Blanket Crochet Pattern

Surging waves send the sharp, salty smell of the ocean swirling up into the air. Grey clouds gather overhead, a ominous reminder that a storm is fast approaching, bringing with it cool gusts of wind and an excuse to head indoors and snuggle up by the fireplace.

Envelope yourself in the warmth and serenity of the Winter Tempest Blanket, as it gently transports you to a quaint little cottage by the seaside. The tranquil world of oceans and rippling waves brings a simple sophistication to this elegant blanket. Perfect as a couch throw, the eclectic, uneven stripes make this an artistic home accessory for any room! From the billowing tassels to the detailed ocean-like design, this blanket will conjure up memories of stormy seas as you snuggle underneath it’s fluffy cosiness with a hot chocolate to warm your icy fingers.

The Winter Tempest Blanket is fluffy and extra snuggly and provides the perfect amount of warmth as you slip out of the cosy toastiness of your bed and tiptoe along the icy wooden floors to sit and watch as the storm brews on the cold horizon… Listening to the pitter-patter of rain on the window, a perfectly calm way to start the day.

I wanted to showcase the variety of neutrals that always paint themselves across a stormy sky, and Lion Brand’s New Basic 175 yarn was a superb fit! This yarn has so many wonderful cool colorways, so I chose an eclectic pattern to let them all shine.

Because of the intricate stitch design I’d consider this an intermediate pattern, but an ambitious beginner may be able to tackle this one as I’ve also included a ton of how-to photos to help make the learning process all the more enjoyable. Ready to embark on this new crochet pattern?
